In the 1950s, Sealy US, in conjunction with leading orthopaedic surgeons, Dr. Robert G. Addison and Dr. Charles O. Bechtol, developed the concept of orthopaedically correct support and launched Sealy Posturepedic®. Significant advancements have been made and a new Orthopaedic Advisory Board (OAB) was established to conduct research into sleep biomechanics.
